Centrally located in the North East of England, the new plant utilises a range of processing and recycling technologies. Working as a special waste transfer station, the plant not only pre-treats waste prior to landfill disposal but also segregates it into recyclable material streams.

The Process
Each vehicle is first weighed on arrival at the Max Recycle Waste Transfer Station.

Waste is then discharged into the waste reception hall where it undergoes a visual check for any dangerous or hazardous material that may be present.

Waste segregation has two distinct components:

• Separating recyclables from the waste stream
  
• Screening for inappropriate waste
  
• Recyclable materials segregated and compacted/baled wherever possible
  
• Non recyclable materials are compacted for onward transport prior to transferred to the appropriate disposal locations
