Start Your Service with TDC
To start
your service with us, we will
first arrange for one of our
waste disposal consultants to
visit you and discuss your needs.
There are
two main elements of starting
your service with us. First,
completing and agreeing a contract
between The Durham Company and
your company. Secondly, your
completion of a Duty of Care
Certificate including a Controlled
Waste Transfer Note (WTN).
The Contract
/ Duty of Care Waste Transfer
Note form and the Duty of Care
form are one Document. This
is by law only valid for 12
months and needs to be renewed
regularly; we will ensure that
you are aware of this.

Subsequently
you will be sent a copy of your
completed Duty of Care throughout
the duration of your waste disposal
contract with us. This needs
to be returned promptly as we
cannot collect your waste without
it! This is the form shown next
After providing
these details about your waste,
our consultant will then provide
you with detailed unit prices,
individual land fill taxes on
each lift, the total Landfill
Tax, bin rental, Duty of Care,
the total disposal charge and
VAT.
The invoice
address and details will be
added and the agreement will
be duly signed by you the customer
and our authorised waste disposal
consultant. This will then become
our contract.
Similar information
will be entered into the Duty
of Care Controlled Waste
Transfer Note. This includes:

Copies will
be given to you for your records
which you must keep for a minimum
of 3 years. The details from
these forms will then be entered
into our database which ensures
that your waste collections
are scheduled, the agreed prices
are charged and the relevant
legal notices filed and stored.
Remember
The Duty of Care form
sent to you every 12 months
must be signed and returned
to us promptly.
